Nigeria National League (NNL) side Mighty Jets have suspended their technical adviser, Ere Dokubo, following a series of disappointing results that have left the team struggling at the bottom of the league.
The decision comes on the back of a 1-1 home draw against Kada Warriors FC on Saturday, a result that extended the club’s winless streak and intensified pressure on the coaching staff. The club’s management issued an official statement confirming the suspension, citing the need to address performance issues and restore competitiveness.
“Following a thorough review of the team’s performance in the ongoing NNL season, the management has decided to suspend technical adviser Ere Dokubo with immediate effect,” the statement read. “This measure is aimed at recalibrating the team and improving results in the remaining fixtures.”

Assistant coach Festus Ukpebo Ehiohiren has been appointed to lead the team for the rest of the season. Ehiohiren, a former player and long-serving member of the club’s technical setup, will have his first test in the upcoming clash against City FC. Fans and stakeholders are hopeful that his appointment can spark a turnaround and help the team climb out of the relegation zone.
Mighty Jets currently sit at the bottom of NNL Conference C, having accumulated just 10 points from 10 games. The team’s struggles have been marked by inconsistent performances, defensive lapses, and an inability to convert chances into victories, contributing to a mounting pressure on both players and coaching staff.
Club supporters have expressed mixed reactions to the decision, with some welcoming the shake-up as necessary to inject new energy, while others remain cautious, noting that structural and tactical issues within the squad must also be addressed to ensure sustained improvement.
As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Ehiohiren.
